TechnaPWN Robotics was started in 2009 by Doug Tweedt. He wanted to give homeschoolers a chance to learn more about STEM. Being an engineer himself, he wanted to teach kids how to use the engineering process to work towards a goal. In the eleven years of the team, homeschoolers from both the Council Bluffs and Omaha areas have been able to learn about STEM, how to work on a team with teammates, and interact with other teams during competitions. For this season, we have a total of ten members split between two teams. Each member has a job on the team based on their skills. While someone is on the team, they will not only do their own job but learn a little about everyone's jobs. They not only learn STEM, but also things like patience, accountability, social skills, budgeting, scheduling and planning, and many other skills that are used in the real world.
